Nainital

This lovely destination is part of the Kumaon region of Uttarakhand state and was once upon a time a popular summer retreat of the British.

Nainital is one of the best hill stations in India and in here, Nainital Tourso much full of exciting places to watch that one feels to settle down here forever and spend his holidays in Nainital and the days he stays here will always remains in his memory.  This hill station situated in North India is also known as the summer retreat, Nainital comes in the Indian state of uttarakhand at an altitude of 1,938 meters above sea level.

It was also called by the name of City of Lakes as it is surrounded all over from the lakes. But now you may not get the chance to see all of those lakes as most of them got disappeared. But today there is lake called Naini which is famous there. There is a temple dedicated to the goddess Naina too in Nainital. After the Anglo- Nepalese war in the year of 1814 this hill station came under British Rule. But the hill station town of Nainital was founded only in 1841, with the construction of the first Pilgrim Lodge by P. Barron, a sugar trader from Shahjahanpur. In the latter half of the 19th century a number of "European" schools for boys and girls were founded in Nainital. During the Victorian and Edwardian eras, students in these schools consisted largely of children of British colonial officials or soldiers.

It is also known as China or Cheena Peak. Naina peak is the highest peak in the town, with an altitude of 2,615 m (8,579 ft). And at a walking distance of 6 km from the north end of the town (Mallital).

Naini Lake
This lake is very much famous in Nainital; it can also be called Naini Lake or Naini Taal which is located in the district of Nainital.

Snow View Trek
The Snow view point is located at a height of 2270 meter above sea level. It can be reached by the ropeway or the ponies available at Mallital.

Tiffin Top
Tiffin Top is also known as Dorothy's Seat. This terraced hill top (7,520 ft)) on Ayarpatta hill which is a 4 km hike from the town centre and glimpse a nice view of the neighboring  country side.

Bhimtal
Bhimtal, situated at a distance of 22kms from Nainital, is named after one of the Pandav brothers called Bhim. The largest lake in the district of Nainital, Bhim Tal is 1701 meters by 265 meters, 265 metres longer than Naini Lake.

Adventure
In Nainital adventure is difficult to explain, But one can really enjoy the horse riding in here. No one can miss the joy of riding a horse. It can not only go upto mall but to Snow peak, tiffin top, you will easily find lots of ponies and horses and one can hire them as well.

Best Time to Visit Nainital
The best time visit Nainital is between April to June and then again in September October. The months of January to March are marked by the snowfall which is for a very short time and snow lover should really come to Nainital at this they will really enjoy it.
