Kandy + Nuwara Eliya + Kataragama + Bentota + Colombo

Overview

Mainly known for its wonderful resorts and spicy food, Bentota is not among the popularly frequented places in Sri Lanka. However, it is fast making its presence felt on the tourist's map and is on its way to become one of the most popular tourist spots in Sri Lanka. Located 65 km away from Colombo, Bentota is a place you must visit if you want solitude mixed with natural beauty. Kandy city is well known for its scenic beauty, favorable climate, cultural values and historical significance. The city is beautified by an inner tier of mountain ridges as Hantana towards south. Udawattekelle to the East and Bahirawakanda towards North west. The former capital Colombo, the only gateway to the splendid island and the commercial and business centre is the city of happening in Sri Lanka. Colombo is dotted with many interesting and important tourist attractions including colonial era buildings.

Day 01: Airport / Kandy
On arrival at the Bandaranaike International Airport, you will get your first taste of warm Sri Lankan hospitality; Our representative will Welcome you and transfer to Kandy .En route visit the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage. This elephant Orphanage is setup especially for Abandoned or injured baby elephants. They are reared here and are trained to become working animals. Feeding and bathing in the river provide the best opportunities to see the animals close-up. Check in to the hotel in Kandy.

In the evening city tour of Kandy. Visit the Temple of the Holy Tooth Relic of Lord Buddha, the Gem Museum, and traditional batik-making factory.  A stroll in the market place would also be interesting.   Late evening experience a colourful cultural show where you can really taste the Sri Lankan culture.

Day 02: Kandy/ Nuwara Eliya
After breakfast, visit the Royal Botanical Garden in Kandy. Thereafter continue your journey to Nuwara Eliya. Witness the Ramboda water fall & en-route you can stop and enjoy a cup of Ceylon Tea while enjoying the spectacular scenery. Spend the evening relaxing in the cool climate.

Nuwara Eliya is known as, Little England of Sri Lanka. Is set against beautiful backdrops of Mountains, Valleys, Waterfalls and Tea Plantations. It is supposed to be one of the coldest places on the island, but is really just like an England spring day although the temperature does drop at night. All around Nuwara Eliya you will see evidence of the British influence. Houses are like country cottages or Queen Ann style mansions.

Day 03: Nuwara Eliya / Kataragama
After breakfast transfer to Kataragama via the Ella Gap. En route witness a beautiful Ravana Ella waterfall in Ella. In the evening pilgrimage to the predominantly Hindu Jungle shrine of Kataragama in the southeast quarter of the Island.

Day 04: Kataragama  / Bentota
Optional Safari Tour in Yala, This national park where you could see elephants, snakes, wild Boers, wild pigs, peacock, Deers, Samburs, crocodiles, Mamels jackalws, lots of birds, if the clients are lucky they could witness a leopard in the park
 
After breakfast proceed to Bentota via the coastal line in South of  Sri Lanka.

Day 05:  Bentota / Colombo
After breakfast proceed to Colombo. In the evening, go on a site seeing and a shopping trip around the busy cities of Colombo. Youll be seeing the famous Bandaranaike international memorial hall, Valukarama temple, the municipal council. You can enjoy fair bargain by shopping at some of the reputed shopping malls such as ODEL, Liberty plaza, Majestic city, Arena, etc. pay a visit to the Pettah Bazaar.

Optional, to try your luck, step out from the hotel and drop in to a reputed gambling mall such The Ballys, MGM grand club, etc. night life has now become active than it used to be. Night Clubs, pubs are open till dawn so you can drop in at any time.

Day 06:  Colombo / Airport
After breakfast proceed to the Airport for the Departure Flight.
